cheap thrills.

OHOh.
that's too much restaurant-ing for the past few weeks.
i'm wallowing in immense guilty *seems not like it*
OhOh...ate @ Tung Lok Signatures this evening. omg. what a huge restaurant and so white & clean. and the air was filled with this pleasant hint of soy/ abalone/ fish sauce that they use for alot of their dishes. and my heart just crumbled at the sight of the peking duck others were eating (which i din get to cos my mum said it's so not worth it)

and we ate *drifts off to lala-land*
it was delicious (it has to be, given the amount we spend lOls.)

anyways speaking of foOd (yes as always; jasmine's favourite topic apart from korean dramas and shopping)
that's quite a few nice treats (and cheap thrills) @ around my work place...

Jasmine's favourite haunts during weekday lunch
nO 1.: Plaza Sing's Kopitiam's Indonesian BBQ stall. reminds me of NUS's engine canteen's indo foOd. yummy bbq sauce~

nO 2: Pontian Wanton Mee. apart from the Heeren branch, this one @ cuppage plaza is goOd toO. I dun get why i'm so gaga over the nonspicy (so they put black sauce instead of chilli) but love their noOdles.

nO 3: Orchard Yong Tau Foo also @ Cuppage Plaza. Best when eaten on the spot instead of takeaway; the great thing about it is their mifen (but i still miss my skoO's laksa yong tau foo)

nO 4: Isle Cafe's drinks. Especially their hot drinks; thick, not so sweet and superb! Iced drinks can vary from taste (on a daily basis). Apart from their drinks, the cafe also operate a chinese rice and singaporean delights which are cheaper considering that's orchard area. Alot of construction workers crowd there for lunch because they offer alot more rice and servings~

nO 5: Concord Hotel's foOdcourt. Although i've not tried every single stall but their nasi lemak is the most value for $$ lOls. At $3.80, u can get up to 5 sides. The Hokkien mee's quite tasty toO!

nO 6: Hard to admit (yes the xiaO jie dun really like the environment) but the mini coffeshop @ Concord hotel near the traffic light sells cheap quality foOd. The group of friends (or brothers) open a chinese rice and a chicken rice stall. Their duck's delicious and most of their chinese dishes are above average. One can get a meal @$2.70~

gOd i feel hungry.

Just to publicize abit~~ lOls.
- 1 week temp telemarketing (no hard sell, not commission based)
- 1 week Korean Speakers
- 3- 6 weeks Thai Speakers

cinderella man.

i feel as if i can watch Cinderella Man in 2 days! can't stop clicking on the next episode cos' it's just so addictive even tho Kwon Sang Woo ain't my favourite male actor.

plus there's no need to save dramas for the weekdays since i pretty much half doze on the chair by 10pm after watching the ultimatum. No it's not that the ch 8 with all the leaded cast is boring (now it's getting interesting honestly like woah.)..but that sometimes i almost forgot i'm still a student (not a slave driver for my company) and that i have modules to choose for the next sem (damn.) and i still have grades that needs even more constant improving.

but i seem cut off from the world; busy, tired and living in my own bubble in somerset lOls.

speaking of singapore drama, tho i've not been constantly tuning in to ch8 but most the drama I watched (& when tragic stuff do happen), it always must involve rape and psychotic, sexually deprived people? LIKE it's too much of a stereotype and it gets disturbing that the drama revolve around such themes....there're like a million other tragic incidents to take from; like murder/ betrayal but it has to be rape (and because the man is sexually deprived so he can't control himself) it feels kinda wrong?

lOls. maybe we haven been noticing this but the trend seems pretty obvious and to have 2 rape/ physical incidents in the involving sexually deprived men and helpless women =S.

And the similarity between ultimatum and east of eden involving babies switched @ birth ( the women who switched them is the women tt's gotten 'abused' by the man in both dramas) and then the rich man's company grew more prestigious when the kids were all grown up and one of them is not always well accepted by one of the parents.

Yet i must admit Fann Wong still looks the most revishing in her late 30s lOls.

oOo and i forgot to talk about Atashinchi no Danshi after watching it for 8 weeks. This is my 2nd favourite after Zettai Kareshi(this is showing on channel U right now; called Absolute/ Perfect Boyfriend i think so it's a must watch!)

AS for Atashinchi, the characters are so laughable & lovable; the first 2 episodes were full of crap but after that every single one of them are cute/ sweet in their own ways (not to say some of the main characters are good looking too.)

One thing about jap dramas is that they always have this homely touch to their plot that makes you appreciate the people/ things around you. K- drama on the other hand emphasize alot more on the glam (yes yes materialistc) factor. If it isn't glam, it'll be heartbreaking but you do learn alot about korean culture from the dramas alone.

could've been the saddest day.

yeap. wednesday could've been the saddest day for the whole month.
cos i'm failing my music exam again T.T that means no freedom (i'm forced not to give up, according to my parents)
i'm just still very far from the mark.

but i had my colleagues (esp my boss) bugging me the whole day with well wishes; his tagline is keep asking me to come back and finish the company stuff -_-'' lol.
oh ya, and shirley, jarrod says (for the 2nd time) to wait for u to come back so we can have LUNCH tgt lOls! so yea...when u come collect testimonial, it'll be that day ehehe.

anyhow, i was disappointed for like 10mins untilmy colleagues called in and the night activities with the GLC woOhoOs!
my only regret was we din get to ACID bar earlier so that i can get cheaper drinks sighhh.
though din spend much but choc martini got more and more powdery ack. but the atmosphere tho deafening at first was really enjoyable with all the singing and the ang mohs gettting so high and it was a small and cOsy place. It was great; Nadya and shawn were singing non stop to Queens' tunes & SX kept his mouth shut until the Reflections song omg hahhaa.

But there's more to come (I HOPE) for glc outings~~~

I love bakerzin..I LOVE YOU, i swear. oOps sorry Breadtalk, your breads are still the bestttt.
My family's been loOking forward to cake of the month. Last month was Choc Amer and it was to die for...ahHHhh.
This month's New York Cheesecake's not as good compared to Amer BUT it was a great snack for tired me who drags herself back from work at the end of the night~

IT fair for me tomorrow!

guilt.

saw a foreign number on my phone today whilst at work.
it was from KU *a million ounces of guilt*
i was searching high and low for the reject online application button but it was nowhere to be found...*it's not my fault noOOOooO*

so i told the innocent, sweet sounding korean guy that i emailed to them a few times but there was no response and his sweet, innocent sounding voice said "ohhhh...okayyy. we were just wondering whether you'll still be interested~~~"

"sorry sorry!"
"no it's okayyyyyy...thank you~ bye bye~~~~~" smth like that

HAIZ. to think they took pains to call overseas students just to ask whether we're still interested. If it's SG, pple will just assume you're nt interested and delete ur application once it's past the deadline.

oh man. i wonder whether i'm gonna be blacklisted in that uni =X

anyways @ work, i've been getting strange orders.
it's the first time i bet anyone has received a job order from a departmental store & it turned out they're looking for a supermarket asst who's comfortable with handling knife and meat because they're gonna train him behind those cold meats and ham section in the supermarket -_-'''

what kind of position is that.
so hard to find.
and i painstakingly found 1 and he casually didn't turn up for interview omg.
i'm running out of options lOls.
